- 1½ cups ketchup
- 1 cup molasses or sorghum
- 4 tablespoons classic BBQ rub
Optional Add-ins:
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine ketchup, molasses, and BBQ rub.
- Stir continuously until well-blended.
- Add optional Worcestershire and liquid smoke for deeper flavor.
- Simmer gently until small bubbles appear.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
Notes
- Don’t boil the sauce. A gentle simmer is enough.
- Taste and adjust spice or sweetness as needed.
- Freezes well in small containers for up to 3 months.
- Use as glaze for ribs, wings, burgers, or roasted veggies.
